Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: March 15, 2026

Tech Tips India is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

Accessibility Features

Tech Tips India includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements can be accessed using a keyboard. Press Tab to move forward through elements and Shift+Tab to move backward.
  • Skip to main content: A skip navigation link is provided at the top of every page to bypass repetitive navigation and jump directly to the main content.
  • Focus indicators: Visible focus indicators appear on all interactive elements when navigated using a keyboard.
  • Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Responsive design: The website adapts to different screen sizes and works on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops.
  • Dark and light mode: Users can switch between dark and light themes based on their preference.
  • Reduced motion: Animations are disabled or minimised for users who have enabled the "prefers-reduced-motion" setting in their operating system.
  • Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and semantic elements to ensure screen reader compatibility.
  • Image descriptions: All informational images include alternative text descriptions.
  • Readable fonts: Base font size is 16px with adequate line spacing for comfortable reading.
  • Cookie consent: Our cookie consent banner is fully accessible via keyboard and screen readers.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:

  • Code blocks: Syntax-highlighted code blocks in our programming tutorials may not convey colour-coded syntax information to screen reader users. We ensure that the code itself is readable as plain text.
  • SVG illustrations: Some decorative post illustrations are SVG-based and use generic alternative text. These are supplementary to the article content and do not convey essential information.
  • Third-party content: Embedded content from third parties (such as YouTube videos or advertisements served by Google AdSense) may not fully meet our accessibility standards. We encourage these providers to improve their accessibility.
  • Interactive components: Some interactive elements built with JavaScript (search dialog, mobile navigation) follow WAI-ARIA patterns but may behave differently across assistive technology combinations.

Technologies Used

The accessibility of Tech Tips India relies on the following technologies:

  • HTML5 with semantic elements
  • CSS with media queries for responsive design and reduced motion
  • JavaScript with ARIA attributes for interactive components
  • Next.js framework with server-side rendering for progressive enhancement

Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technology

Tech Tips India is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), NVDA and JAWS (Windows), TalkBack (Android)
  • Voice control: Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Windows Voice Access, macOS Voice Control
  • Screen magnification: ZoomText, Windows Magnifier, macOS Zoom
  • Browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari (latest two major versions)

We test our website regularly with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation to ensure that all content and interactive features remain accessible.

Assessment and Remediation

We assess the accessibility of Tech Tips India through the following methods:

  • Automated testing: We run automated accessibility scans using tools such as Lighthouse, axe-core, and WAVE to identify common issues like missing alt text, insufficient contrast, and improper heading hierarchy.
  • Manual testing: Our team performs manual keyboard navigation tests and screen reader testing on key user flows including browsing articles, using the search feature, navigating between pages, and submitting the contact form.
  • Ongoing monitoring: As we publish new content and add new features, we review each change for accessibility compliance before release.

When accessibility issues are identified, we prioritise them based on impact and work to remediate them as quickly as possible.

Enforcement Procedure

If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you may escalate the matter through the relevant accessibility enforcement body in your jurisdiction.
